A Bouquet of Sharpened Pencils

Our annual family trips to the beach are always my favorite. It is such a wonderful time to pull away and (finally) get started on my summer reading list. Funny… I know! I barely get any time for leisurely reading. But as summer comes to a close and children return to school for the start of the new school year my heart remains full, even still …

I am looking forward to Charlotte in the fall … “It makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address. On the other hand, this not knowing has its charms.”  — excerpt from my ALL time favorite movie“You’ve Got Mail”.

No, really. It makes me want to buy school supplies, and a pumpkin spiced latte from Starbucks every day of the week. I don’t think my bank account would like that too much.

Fall time always has me reflecting on His goodness. I remember, 9 months ago, when we first arrived at our new townhome. There was such a nervous/excited feeling in my heart. Not knowing what to expect … I embraced the new season with open arms. I knew no one in Charlotte.

But as the months continued the Lord opened doors that I could have never imagined.

He is truly a faithful God who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. Eph 3:20

… To Him be all the glory. Amen

Love,

Alison
